Kenneth P. Birman and Thomas A. Joseph's paper Exploiting Virtual Synchrony in Distributed Systems, Dec 1987, received a 2013 Hall of Fame award last week at the 11th ACM Symposium on Operating Systems Principles. Robbert VanRenesse was also chair of the Dennis Ritchie PhD award committee. Photos from the event are below:
