Graduate students, Lakshmi Ganesh & Huijia Lin were selected as Microsoft Research and Live Labs PhD Fellows. Microsoft received 173 applications from which they had the difficult task of selecting only 15 winners.
Provisions of the Award include:
The fellowship recipient award will cover 100 percent of the tuition and fees for two academic years (2009 and 2010).
A stipend is provided to cover living expenses while in school.
A conference and travel allowance is provided for recipients to attend professional conferences or seminars.
All recipients will be offered the opportunity to complete salaried internships with either Microsoft Research or Microsoft Live Labs in Redmond, Washington.
Fellowships are awarded to recipients for two academic years only and are not available for extension.
