Ashish Sabharwal, postdoctoral associate in the Intelligent Information Systems Institute directed by Carla Gomes, was honored as runner-up for the IJCAI-JAIR 2008 Best Paper Prize for his paper, co-authored with Paul Beame and Henry Kautz, entitled "Towards Understanding and Harnessing the Potential of Clause Learning".
The Annual IJCAI-JAIR Best Paper Prize is awarded to an outstanding paper published in JAIR in the preceding five calendar years.
