As scrutiny of the security of blockchain technology continues to rage, CS Prof Emin Gün Sirer has been quoted extensively on his knowledge as a smart contract researcher and co-director of IC3. In a December 6 CoinDesk article he is quoted on how blockchain builders can thrive in Trump’s America and what can go wrong with natively developed smart contracts:: “Smart contracts without escape hatches are like programs without safety checks combined with contracts without arbitration clauses. Your code will go wrong, your organization will run in ways you did not anticipate, your money will get lost, and you’ll have absolutely no recourse.”
