Procedure for Arts Students

Arts College Application to Graduate

All students in the College of Arts and Sciences are required to submit, electronically an official Application to Graduate (Part 1: College Requirements and Part 2: Major Requirements). These e-forms must be completed and submitted during the next to last semester.

After completing the Part 1 portion of the Application to Graduate, students need to set up a time to complete the Part 2 portion with a CS advisor from 110 Gates Hall (Either Nicole Roy or Stella Lee).

Questions about any of these matters can be directed to: ugrad "at" cs.cornell.edu.

Seventh-Semester Check-Up Form (Optional for students in Arts and Sciences)

During the next-to-last semester of study (typically the 7th Semester) you can complete the Seventh Semester Check-up, the purpose of which is to identify any potential problems prior to your final semester. This form covers the same material as is discussed when completing the Part 2 of the Application to Graduate, therefore it is an optional step for students in Arts & Sciences.  For more information on this form, see below (under Procedure for Engineering Students).

Seventh-Semester Check-Up Form

During the next-to-last semester of study (typically the 7th Semester) you should complete the Seventh Semester Check-up, the purpose of which is to identify any potential problems prior to your final semester.

On the Check-Up form, you will need to explicitly specify your elective courses for the major (e.g. Technical electives, External Specialization, etc.) and alert the Undergraduate Office to any issues that might effect your degree status. This check up requires careful scrutiny of the entire CS major checklist, including all degree requirements in Engineering. Submission of this form does not constitute any kind of official approval of electives or other requirements, it is merely a means of self-review and communication to the field office. It is your responsibility to make sure that all degree requirements are being met. Final certification of your degree will depend entirely on whether or not you have met all of the requirements specified by the College and the Major.

You will review *your* CS checklist (available online at https://www.csuglab.cornell.edu/checklist/cs/), which represents our understanding of your degree progress to date, so you will need it when filling out the Check-Up form. Any problems, questions, omissions, or other types of errors need to be noted clearly on the Check-Up form.
