One of Cornell's top undergraduate scholars named Steve Marschner as the professor who most influenced her.

Sarah Forcier (Chemistry '16) was one of Cornell's  33 2016 Merrill Scholars: "Making up approximately 1 percent of the Class of 2016, Merrill scholars are chosen not only for their scholastic accomplishments but also their “remarkable intellectual drive, energetic leadership abilities and a propensity to contribute to the betterment of society.”"

Each scholar can pick one faculty member who made a great impact on their lives, and Forcier chose Steve Marschner.  As evidence of the impact he had on her, she is entering the University of Pennsylvania's Masters of Engineering in Computer Graphics and Game Technology, switching her career path in this direction her senior year.
